For FEMME, Mikey Freedom did not paint. He cut. Scissors, a blade and coloured paper, and a figure appears out of nothing but edge and shape. Two of those silhouettes now sit big across the back of a Tee Cartel tee.

Mikey Freedom is an Australian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans murals, sculpture, cut-outs, installation and placemaking, working where the studio meets the street. Over two decades he has built a substantial body of public and private work for hospitality, cultural and commercial spaces, including Campari, Shell House and The Porteño Group. He draws on modernism, street culture, literature, music and architecture, and holds that art belongs inside everyday life. He is based on the South Coast of New South Wales.
